Working with CROs, not against them
Why Augmentiv makes contract labs more productive instead of trying to replace them.
Contract research organizations do an enormous share of the world’s experimental work. They have the facilities, the instruments and — most importantly — the skilled people. We have no interest in replacing them.
The trust gap in outsourced science
Outsourcing works on trust, and trust is hard to verify from a data file. When Amgen’s scientists tried to confirm 53 landmark preclinical studies before investing in them, they could confirm only six. Sponsors have learned the hard way that a result is only as useful as their confidence in how it was produced.
That confidence is expensive to build without evidence. Researchers estimate roughly $28 billion a year is spent in the U.S. on preclinical research that can’t be reproduced — and in a survey by Nature, most scientists said they had failed to reproduce someone else’s work.
A tool that shows the work
It’s a fair question: why would a lab adopt a tool that makes its work visible, mistakes included? Because the record works in the lab’s favour. Sponsors want to see how their experiments were run, and labs that can show them win more work. A deviation that’s caught and corrected is evidence of a careful team, not a careless one.
What sponsors see
With Augmentiv, a sponsor doesn’t just receive a result. They receive the run record behind it: every step, every deviation and how it was handled, and video evidence of critical moments. Questions that used to take weeks of emails — “Was the incubation really 15 minutes? Which lot of reagent was used?” — can be answered by looking.
For a CRO, that changes the conversation. Instead of defending results after the fact, the lab can show its work from the start — and build a track record that new clients can see before they sign.
More from what you already have
Augmentiv gives operators back the time they lose to documentation, and helps junior staff do expert work under step-by-step guidance. The result is more capacity from the same people and the same equipment — which means more revenue for lab owners, without new hires or capital spend.
We don’t build the labs. We help them do more — the way a ride-sharing app works with drivers rather than building cars.
What it means for the people at the bench
Operators get clear, step-by-step guidance and spend less of their day on paperwork. Deviations are caught while they can still be fixed, rather than discovered weeks later in someone else’s data. And footage is never used to rank or monitor individuals — it exists to prove the work, not to police the people doing it.
Filling freed capacity
As labs get time back, we help fill it with well-specified work from biotech, academic and AI research teams — experiments that arrive scoped, reviewed and ready to run, with verification built in.
One standard, every lab
Because every Augmentiv lab works to the same verified standard, a result means the same thing wherever it was produced. For sponsors, that’s confidence. For labs, it’s a track record that travels with them.
